Florida Quest is the inspiring multimedia curriculum presented by The Daytona Beach News-Journal and WDSC-TV. It is offered to students in grades 3-6 and to selected classes in other grades including high school. This motivating project takes place AFTER the FCAT testing sessions and is a fun and engaging way for students to learn aspects of the history of our community and our state, along with critical thinking, reading and writing skills. Students use clues from their local newspaper, video, the Florida Quest website and specially designed classroom materials to help solve each chapter's mystery. The Sunshine State Standards met by Florida Quest are listed in this year's booklet. Now in its 19th year, this project continues to receive accolades from teachers, students and the community-at-large, and has won numerous awards from professional media organizations.
