Newspaper Activities for Brain Freeze

1. In this chapter, the students begin their cross-country adventure. Record their travels on a large map of the U.S. Then chart and compare the current temperatures and rainfall amounts for each city that they visit using the weather page in The News-Journal. (Sunshine State Standard: SS.B.1.2.1)

2. Famous authors are part of this week´s clue. Over the next few weeks, collect articles from The News-Journal about authors and their works. (Sunshine State Standards: LA.A.2.2.5, LA.E.2.2.5)

3. In order to succeed, a team of diverse students and their teacher must work together toward a common goal. Clip from The News-Journal, articles showing people working together.
