Endangered

Chapter Ten

— Newspaper Activities —

1. In this chapter, Katie and the boys were overwhelmed by the majesty of the whooping crane. Clip photos of Florida wildlife from your newspaper and arrange them into a Majestic Montage. Share your creation with friends and family. (SC.G.2.2)

2. When the kids saw the "For Sale" sign, they knew that the wild land would soon be developed, and that it would probable not be suitable for the whooping cranes to live there. From your newspaper, clip and read articles that deal with the pros and cons of developing coastal lands in Florida. Discuss your findings with classmates and family members to decide where you stand on the issues. (LA.E.1.2) (SS.B.2.2)
