 | Captain John Rich was one of the first settlers in the West Volusia community once known as "Persimmon Hollow." The city of DeLand arose from that community; Rich Avenue pays tribute to the Captain's prominence in DeLand's early history. Sadly, the history behind Stone Street has not been well-documented. Its origin remains a mystery. |
