Meet the Trackers

| Ethan and Ally CobleMeet the twins, Ethan and Ally Coble. The twins moved to Florida from Colorado a few years ago with their parents. They bought a house on the St. Johns River, in western Volusia County. When the twins arrived in Florida, they soon began to discover fascinating facts about their new state. They discovered a historic lighthouse at Ponce Inlet and a fun, historic ballpark at City Island in Daytona Beach. One summer, they explored Barberville's Pioneer Settlement for the Creative Arts, a "living" museum of buildings and artifacts from Florida's past. |

| Lauren and Zack LambertThe most interesting thing the Coble twins have done since arriving in Florida is to make friends with Lauren Lambert and her younger brother, Zack. The Lamberts live in a big, old house with their dad, in the town of Ponce Inlet. Lauren Lambert is in a wheelchair, and she is very resourceful. She has a laptop computer and a cell phone. The cell phone is for emergencies, so she can reach her brother or sitter in case she gets into a jam. Because Lauren is in a wheelchair, she found herself in a quandary when the gang decided to make their clubhouse in the attic of the inlet house. Lauren's dad had installed an elevator so Lauren could get to her bedroom on the second floor, but the elevator did not go all the way up to the attic. Special arrangements had to be made. That's where Captain Wellington came in. |
NikiEthan and Ally spend most of their spare time at the inlet house with Lauren and Zack. Mr. Lambert, Lauren and Zack's dad, is hardly ever home since he travels a lot for his job. Niki lives at the house and looks after all four kids, which keeps her very busy. You see, the Trackers always seem to find mysteries to solve. That's why they call themselves "Trackers," because they track down clues to solve mysteries. Often, the clues lead to stories about history. Since Niki studies history in college, she comes in pretty handy at helping to solve the mysteries--plus, Niki has her driver's license! Niki likes to drive the Trackers around in a big van that belongs to the Lambert family. So even though Lauren, as the oldest Tracker, is the leader of the club, Niki is an honorary member.
| Captain WellingtonCaptain Wellington, a gray-haired and bearded sea captain, lives in an old house with a dock at Ponce Inlet, not far from where Lauren and Zack Lambert live. Captain Wellington knows a lot about the old days, and he likes to talk about history. He is also good at building things. The captain designed a platform alongside the stairway in the Lambert's inlet house so Lauren could get her wheelchair up to the clubhouse. Since he is British, the captain calls the platform a "lift." Lift is what the British call an elevator. Now Lauren can travel easily up to Half-Moon Hideaway. The Trackers named their clubhouse after the semi-circle shaped window on the eastern wall. The window looks across some housetops and out to the Atlantic Ocean. |
Miko and Mrs. PerryMiko Perry is a friend of the Trackers. Miko moved to the United States from Japan. Sometimes, he helps the Trackers solve mysteries without even knowing it. He just seems to pop up from time to time when the Trackers are tracking clues. Miko's mother, Mrs. Perry, is a marine biologist. She studies ocean life. Sometimes she invites the Trackers to join her while she is at work.
