NEWSPAPER ACTIVITIES
1. Sometimes the author has Kit talking and thinking like a human. From the comic section of The News-Journal clip and study similar examples of animals with human traits. Then, create a cartoon strip with Kit and his family as the main characters. Scan it into your computer and send it to nie@nieworld.com for possible publication on the Web. 2. At the end of this chapter, Rico recalls the saying, “Home is where your heart is.” From The News-Journal clip photos and illustrations of places where people live. Arrange them into a display.
