Write newspaper advertisements for a vacuum cleaner. Study newspaper ads and think about what might make readers notice their own ads and want to buy the vacuum. Ads should include a description of the vacuum cleaner, an illustration of it, and a coupon or special sale price.
Draw a Comic Strip
Draw comic strips about Ralph running back and forth with the motorcycle as he tries to avoid being sucked into the vacuum cleaner. Reread this scene in Chapter 7. Then, work study comics in a newspaper and discuss how they combine words and illustrations to describe a scene.
