News-Journal photographer Jim Tiller selected 13 classic photographs from an extensive archive collection. He chose popular sites throughout the circulation area that were taken prior to 1940 and then assumed the task of returning to those sites and, where possible, taking new photographs from the exact same angles and locations. The intent was to illustrate how much has changed from then to now. As an added touch, several moments in history that exemplified the diversity of events that made up the past 100 years were included. | |
