Newspaper Activities:

1. Go to the Sports section of The News-Journal and select a baseball team to follow this spring. Create a scrapbook or bulletin board to hold related news articles, photos, and scores. Add your own illustrations and notes. From time to time, share your creation with classmates, friends or family members. (Sunshine State Standards LA.A.2.2; PE.A.3.2; PE.C.2.2)

2. This story is set during World War II and it reveals ways daily life in the U.S. was directly affected by the war. Send it to nie@nieworld.com for possible publication on the web. (Sunshine State Standards LA.B.2.2; SS.C.2.2)
