Newspaper Activities:

1. In this chapter, Larry received a very special gift from his uncle. Read about people giving or receiving gifts in The News-Journal. Then, draw a picture or write about a time when you gave or got a special gift. Send your picture or story to nie@nieworld.com for possible publication on the Web. (HE.B.3.2)

2. Often sports fans, like Larry, follow the careers of their favorite players. Read the Sports section of The News-Journal and select a favorite player or team. Then, assemble a scrapbook of articles and photos about him/her/them. Share your creation with friends, classmates or family. (PE.C.2.2)
