Celebrate Literacy Awards Banquet!


This event took place on May 13, 2004 at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Read with the Pros
On September 17 more than 60 community volunteers read to students in Volusia County Schools as part of the Read with the Pros celebration sponsored by the Volusia Literacy Council.

NIE and Teachers of the Year
With money from the NIE administration budget, we were able to sponsor this local transit authority bus. It´s route changes often, so that all parts of the county can celebrate these wonderful teachers. It puts our promotion in motion with the best of company.

The Sheltie Twins Visits Hurst Elementary
RB and Scarlet stopped by Hurst Elementary to visit some newspaper readers. They shared stories and walks and general pettings. Fore the twins, they appreciated being the stars of the moment.
