The crystal apple, the highest award in the NIE Information Service Bright Ideas Contest, was awarded to The Daytona Beach (FL) News-Journal. The NIE department was recognized as the program of distinction, as exemplified by four submissions to the contest. Both Nancy Govoni, NIE Manager, and Kristen Sternberg, NIE Home Delivery Manager, were recognized for their efforts in the areas of Advertising/Promotion of NIE Program, Creative Contests, Community Involvement and Original Curriculum Development.
