Rose Marie Bryan’s Children Center Update
Volusia County Reading Council has chosen the Rose Marie Bryan Childrens Center at 625 South Street Daytona Beach, just down the street from Turie T. Small Elementary, as our annual Literacy Project. This is a grant funded facility that provides after school care for kindergarten through middle school students. Their focus is on helping children improve academically. The Childrens Center is run by two sisters who attended as young children, one is a teacher. Its located in a former home that has been renovated to serve children. One of their biggest needs is a reading space. We plan to redo a bedroom into a bright, cheerful, comfortable reading room. The walls will be painted yellow with primary colors for window valences, rug and accents.
