Objective: To have children locate different places in the world using the newspaper.

Activity: Have the students look for the location of each article. Then the student will locate that place on a map or globe. Then the students can write to the location for a visitor information packet. Once the visitor information packet is received, they can chart how many days it took for the package to arrive.

The children enjoyed writing letters and mailing their own mail. They were excited to see which places would send back information.

The teacher using the internet in the classroom supplied addresses for the locations.
