Newspaper makes the "Perfect Bonnet"I have helped K-1st grade in making their "Easter Bonnets" from the newspaper. I decided to include my family in this and even to our PTA. As you can see from the picture of my family, I made each one a hat matching their "taste," you might say. My mom´s was sprayed gold, covered in lace and pearls. My sister´s hat (pictured in black and white) was white with shells and flowers. My niece´s hat (background) was a bright blue with Easter eggs and grass all over it. The other hats were purple and yellow with daisies, and green with bunnies. Mine was purple with fringe and flowers. We all had a very unique Easter bonnet that day, and we had so much fun wearing them. Of course I signed each one of them. Who knows, next year I could be taking orders! Our PTA "lady", wore her bonnet to one of our after school sales. We all had one we wore them on the same day. We had a "Hat Parade" for all our kindergarten and first graders. We also use the "hat idea" to make for boys. We have made cowboy hats for one of our PTA programs. These hats are wonderful. All you need is newspaper, spray paint, lace, ribbon, shells, glue, or really just anything you have on hand to create a hat of your choice. Helpful hint: When making a lot of hats, tie a rope from tree to tree. Use clothespins, pin your hats on the line and start spraying. They dry very quickly this way. Plus it puts a smile on everyone´s face. When they see you hanging up all those colorful hats, they can´t help but smile. What fun!!
