Bright Ideas Lesson PlansWeeks “H”,”N” and “W”My Kindergarten class loves to use the newspaper for a variety of projects. During H week we form the newspaper into beautiful hats. The children decorate their hats using feathers, markers, and foam alphabet stick-ons. During N week, we use the newspaper to hunt for sight words and certain letters using a highlighter. We also transform the newspaper into pom poms and trees. During W week, we use the newspaper to look at the weather forecast. We make predictions, using a weather graph and then check the newspaper to see if the forecast was correct. The newspaper also provides us with story starters.
