(Social Studies: Power, Authority and Governance) Students identify key ideals of the United States´ democratic republican form of government. (Social Studies: Civic Ideals and Practice) Activities:1. Draw a picture of the place where you keep your valuable treasures. 2. List five paper items, like special cards or letters, that are so important to you that you would want to keep them until you are an adult. Why are they so special? Ask family members to tell you what they would want to preserve. 3. Identify three places important U.S. charter documents were kept that were harmful to their preservation. 4. How are these elements important in preserving our national documents: (a) airtight glass, (b) metal and glass cases, (c) oxygen and (d) argon? 5.
